Experiential Design
& Events
Signal Factory designs immersive brand environments and live activations that connect with audiences across physical and digital spaces, from trade show floors to fully virtual worlds.
Experiential Design blends deep strategy and wild creative for engaging experiences that create viral moments and FOMO long after events have wrapped. Whether you need creative firepower to win your next trade show or a tactical approach to pulling off an activation stunt, we’re ready to execute that ‘can we actually do this?’ idea.
Virtual Reality bridges the gap between exposure and genuine engagement. It's particularly powerful for complex products, technical demonstrations, or any situation where showing beats telling. We design and build custom VR environments in-house, combining head-tracking, spatial movement, and 3D sound to pull customers off the sidelines and into the driver’s seat.
01
Trade Show Environments
We design trade show environments that turn a booth into a full brand experience, not just a display. Every environment is built to draw attendees in, communicate brand identity at a glance, and hold up under the practical demands of a show floor.
02
Conference Activations
We design conference activations that give a brand a physical presence at industry events, from booth experiences to branded lounges and stage moments. Each activation is built to create memorable engagement with attendees while reinforcing key messaging in a high-traffic, high-competition environment.
03
VR Experiences
We design and build virtual reality experiences that let audiences engage with a brand, product, or concept in an immersive digital environment. These experiences are especially valuable for showcasing products or scenarios that would be difficult or impossible to demonstrate physically.
04
Interactive Installations
We create interactive installations that invite audiences to engage directly with a brand rather than passively observe it. Using sensors, screens, motion, or custom interfaces, these installations turn a physical space into a hands-on brand experience people remember and talk about.
05
Event Brand Design
We design the full visual system for an event, from signage and environmental graphics to stage design and wayfinding, so every touchpoint feels cohesive and on brand. This ensures a consistent brand experience across every space an attendee moves through, not just the main stage or booth.
06
Virtual Product Demonstrations
We build virtual product demonstrations that let audiences explore and interact with a product digitally, often before it physically exists or when in-person demonstration isn't practical. These demonstrations combine 3D visualization with interactive elements to give a product experience real depth and clarity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you design for both physical environments and digital or virtual experiences in the same activation?
Yes. We design activations that blend physical environments with digital and virtual elements, like VR experiences, interactive screens, or virtual product demonstrations, so both work together as one cohesive experience rather than feeling like separate additions. This lets us build activations that extend beyond the physical footprint of a booth or space.
Can you design a standalone activation, or does it need to be part of a larger campaign?
Both. We design standalone activations built around a single event or moment, as well as experiential elements that plug into a larger, multichannel campaign. The activation is scoped to work on its own either way, whether or not it’s connected to a broader brand initiative.
Do you work on both one-time events and recurring or touring activations?
Yes. We design one-time activations built for a single event, as well as recurring or touring experiences designed to be set up, broken down, and redeployed across multiple venues or shows. Touring activations are built with that reuse in mind from the start, so the design holds up across repeated installations.
Can an activation design be adapted or scaled for a different venue or show?
Yes. We design many activations with adaptability in mind, so the core experience can scale up or down and adjust to different venue footprints, floor plans, or show requirements. This is especially common for brands that activate at multiple events throughout the year and want a consistent experience without redesigning from scratch each time.
Can you accommodate a compressed timeline for a fast-approaching event?
We can, depending on the scope of the activation and what’s required for design, fabrication, and on-site execution. Compressed timelines typically mean prioritizing key decisions early and running design and fabrication in parallel where possible. We’ll give you a clear, honest assessment of what’s achievable once we understand the event date and scope.
What typically drives cost on an experiential design project: design, fabrication, or on-site production?
All three factor in, but fabrication and on-site production are usually the largest cost drivers, particularly for physical builds, custom materials, and installation labor. Design complexity, the number of interactive or digital elements involved, and whether the activation needs to tour to multiple venues also affect overall cost. We scope every project individually so cost reflects the actual experience being built.
